In its long history, Carroll County has been home to many villages, towns, crossroads communities, and one city. In modern times, Delphi, the county seat, is the only city, and the incorporated towns are Flora, Burlington, Camden, and Yeoman.

The following list note unincorporated towns in Carroll County. Especially when exploring historical bridges, cemeteries, markers, restaurants, etc., you will visit one of these towns. Some towns support their small communities through annual fundraisers, such as fish frys and garage sales.

Numerous other communities are still marked on some maps, but they are barely discernible now. Lexington, Prince William, Xenia, Bolivar, Flax, and Ray are among those. There were as many as 49 post offices in Carroll County since early times, and a large number of those are no longer discernible.

Camden is a wonderful community located in the heart of Carroll County in north central Indiana. We are within thirty minutes of Lafayette, Monticello, Frankfort, Kokomo and Logansport. Many cultural, educational and sporting events are within easy access. There is always something for the family to do no matter what the season.

Delphi, Indiana

The City of Delphi is the county seat and the only city in Carroll County. Delphi is home to the a large network of parks and trails, numerous shops, restaurants, and heritage and cultural attractions. Delphi's history has been greatly influenced by various forms of transportation. The Wabash River and Deer Creek--both important waterways--traverse the City.

Flora, Indiana

Flora, the Garden Spot of Indiana, is the home to numerous businesses and restaurants, churches, senior housing, and a community center. On Fathers Day weekend, it is host to the annual Hog-Jog foot races and the Idlers Cruise-In car show in the park. In the fall Flora hosts Moonlight Madness.

Burlington Park

Burlington Park is a thirty-acre, modern park with numerous facilities. It includes playground equipment, the Lilly Building, the Community Building, three lighted ball diamonds, basketball/ tennis courts, paved walking trail, and nature area.

Camden-Jackson Park

Visiting the Camden-Jackson Park you will find three pavilions available for a lunch break or picnic. There are modern ball fields with batting cages, horse shoe pits, playground equipment and a lighted basketball court.

Deer Creek Park

Deer Creek Parks' amenities include camping sites with electrical hook-ups, a large fishing pond, and picnic tables. There is a clubhouse, picnic pavilions, playground, paved basketball court, lawn area for informal games, and modern restrooms.

City of Delphi Parks

The City of Delphi provides five parks for the enjoyment of residents and visitors: City, Overlook, Riley, Riley Annex, and Trailhead. Together these parks offer sports facilities, picnic tables/shelters, and playground equipment. There are many paths and trails for walking, bicycling or enjoying nature.

The Flora Community Park is home to shelter houses for groups and playgrounds for children. The park also includes tennis/basketball courts, horseshoe pits, hard ball and softball diamonds, a horse show arena, and a .9 mile walking track.

Wabash & Erie Canal Park

The Carroll County Wabash & Erie Canal, Inc. is a non-profit corporation formed in 1972 to preserve the Canal in Delphi as a significant part of Indiana's history. The founding members sought to preserve the only accessible portion of the Wabash & Erie Canal which still had water in it for educational and entertainment purposes for the local community.

Friends of the Carroll County Parks

A group of citizens first met on February 18, 2008, to begin to organize to provide volunteer support to the Carroll County Park Board and the two county parks which they manage. The group has grown and been very active—in physical work at the parks, fundraising, and generating publicity.
