Delphi Middle School Art Exhibition Opening Reception
Description
The Delphi Opera House Gallery will be transformed into a vibrant showcase of creativity on Wednesday, May 14th, as Delphi Middle School Art and Choir Classes presents its community art exhibition and performance from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and is free and open to the public.
This art exhibition features artwork created by Delphi Middle School students in collaboration with nine talented guest artists who visited the classroom throughout the year.
Thanks to an IAC art grant, students had the invaluable opportunity to learn from and create alongside a diverse group of professional artists, exploring various mediums and techniques. (Dave Sattler, Sharon Owens, Rena Brouwer, Desire’ Daum, Brian Hitselberger, Cervantes Brothers - Isaias, Cesar and Seferino Cervantes, and Bonnie Zimmer.)
Attendees will have the chance to view the impressive collection of collaborative artwork and meet the guest artists, who will each have a table to display their own art and engage with the community. This provides a wonderful opportunity to learn more about their artistic processes and connect with the local art scene.
Adding to the evening's ambiance, the Delphi Choirs will perform a selection of pieces from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, “Night at the Movies”.
Light refreshments will be provided courtesy by Delphi’sGamma Alpha Chapter of Kappa Kappa Kappa, Inc., known better as Tri Kappa Sorority
This event marks the culmination of a year-long effort to enrich art education at Delphi Middle School and foster a greater appreciation for the arts within the Delphi community. The vision is to establish this collaborative exhibition as an annual event, further connecting students, local artists, and the wider public.
These activities have been made possible in part by The Arts Federation and the Indiana Arts Commission, with support from the State of Indiana and the National Endowment for the Arts.
